Economic criminal law is, in itself, a specialization within criminal law. It is a specialization that has acquired progressive importance as legal texts have had to respond to the prevention and reprimand of increasingly complex criminal behaviors developed in a global economy environment and in which the legal assets protected by the types criminal laws include different individual and social rights and interests, and in which the punishment has been extended, after the corresponding reform of the Penal Code, to the criminal responsibility of legal persons.
The University Master that is now being presented, in Economic Criminal Law, is a training proposal that, with 60 ECTS, responds to the wide training demand in the expressive matter of the wide labor demand for the provision of professional services in this specialty.
To achieve a proposal of excellence, the Master combines academic, multidisciplinary training in which they are studied together with subjects of strictly legal content (constitutional foundations and limits of criminal law, economic crimes, crimes against Public Finance and Social Security, environment , urban planning, corruption or crimes against the Public Administration), other disciplinary matters necessary to complete the training in this specialty are addressed (such as commercial law or analysis of financial statements), and, of course, the procedural training that complements an enriches the Master allowing a wide range of knowledge to master, substantively and procedurally, this specialty.
In short, the essential training to access professional practice in the specialty, form part of a specialized legal office or department in the matter, join the Public Administrations or the Public Prosecutor’s Office, facilitating the overcoming of the corresponding selective tests based on the training acquired or opt for professional opportunities such as specialized auditing or join companies’ regulatory compliance responsibility teams.
