The study of crime is a classic in legal dogmatics. The classic work of Cesare Beccaria, from 1764, “Of crimes and penalties” is usually cited as a starting point of modern Criminal Law, passing through the Lombrosian doctrine and reaching the theories of prediction of the School of Kiel or the laws of social dangerousness, which have raised lines of research, many of them already overcome but which have contributed to the modern dogmatics on criminology that seek to confront this phenomenon in its various aspects, both prevention and reprimand or social reintegration.
In all these cases and in the different advances of criminalistic dogmatics, the forensic profile of criminal dangerousness has always been the object of attention and doctrinal dispute when it has not transcended a not always uniform jurisprudence.
The study of the university master’s degree in forensic profiles of criminal dangerousness is an essential training tool to be able to lead the detection and analysis of those profiles that are so relevant in the evolution of criminality as shown by the recent ruling of the Plenary of the Constitutional Court on permanent prison reviewable and its relationship –of compatibility- with the principles of reeducation and social reintegration proclaimed in the Spanish Constitution.
The Master that is now being presented is proposed in 60 ECTS and aims to train criminalists who have the appropriate tools to work on this phenomenon, anticipating changes, leading the improvement of legislation, investigating the conditions in which crime arises, the form of preventing it, treating it and combining reprimand with social reintegration, for which it addresses not only the classic fields of forensic anthropology or advanced dangerousness profiles, but also other innovative ones such as forensic psychiatry and the psychology of testimony, delving into the techniques investigation, information management and the legal framework of criminal investigation.
